2011 Training Horses
Spring
Tryggur is a 5 year old Icelandic chestnut gelding. His name means trusty or faithful in Icelandic. He has been started under saddle and was foaled and raised at Winterhorse Park Icelandics in Eagle WI. He is being worked on riding and gait refinement, as well as getting more experience with miles and time in the saddle. Tryggur is friendly, playful, brave and strong. Beauty is a 3 year old Quarter horse mare. The owner has previously worked with her on ground skills. Beauty is in training to be started under saddle with plans for her youth rider to show her in local western pleasure shows. She is willing, smooth gaited and a sweet mare.

Flicka is a 3 year old Dun/Paint mare. The owner has previously worked with her on ground skills. Flicka is in training to be started under saddle for recreational riding. She is very perceptive, quick to learn and has a relaxed and consistent walk and trot.

Toby is a 10 year old Paint mare. She is in training for building and improving her confidence, patience, balance and consistancy. Toby is keen, strong and willing. She is becomming more patient and focused. Toby now moves more comfortably and smothly with front shoes on. Her owner plans to ride Toby at home and on trails as well as working on her riding refinement.

2010 Training Horses
Spring
Max is an 8 year old Haflinger gelding. He has been used for a few pony rides and has some driving experience. His owners would like him to be a reliable family pleasure riding horse and be used safely for pony rides at their family business for pony rides at birthday parties at their farm. He is a smart, steady and even temperament horse. He has a slow smooth jog and is progressing very well.

Loping Through Winter, also known as Micki, is a 3 year old Quarter Horse mare. This mare has had some ground skills but owner would like her started under saddle. They would like her to be safe for the kids to ride in the Walworth County 4-H as well as be shown in Walk/Trot at the county fair this year. Micki stands great in cross ties and is a quick learner. Under saddle, she is bending well and can yield to leg in only a few rides! Great trot and will be able to be shown in western or hunt seat.

Fall
Angelo is a 4 year old Kiger Mustang/Missouri Fox trotter gelding. The owners recently purchased him for their daughter. Angelo has been trailered to Sun Fire Stables weekly and bi-weekly for training sessions. Training consisted working on his ground skills and being stared under saddle. Angelo is currently riding well at a walk and trot, and will be working on trail riding in the future. Angelo is curious, willing and smart as well as having a great trot.

2009 Training Horses
Spring
Rocoso is a 5 year old Rocky Mountain Horse gelding. His owner wanted trail ride training which involved despooking and gaining confidence so they could safely and comfortably ride the trails with him. He gaits beautifully and became more confident by the time he went home.

Drifter is a 5 year old POA gelding. This pony was started with ground work with Jennifer 3 years prior. He came back to be started under saddle. The owner's daughter is in 4-H and wanted to show him in Walk/Trot at the Walworth County 4-H. He progressed well with a confident rider. Drifter has a nice, natural head set, slow jog and great stops. He was ridden on trails and over obstacles before returning home.

Summer
Tequila Knights LJ or Tequila for short is a 3 year old Arabian gelding. He had been recently started under saddle but the new owner requested him to be more finished to be a safe pleasure horse to ride at her home. Tequila is responsive, supple and moves out nicely-both laterally and forward in his gaits. He learned better head carriage and to become more confident with his rider. He was ridden on trails and over obstacles. The owner showed him in a fun show at Sun Fire Stables and had a great time!

2008 Training Horses
Spring
Squirt is a 3 year Appaloosa/Quarter Horse mare. Her training regimen consisted of ground skills, started in harness and started under saddle. Squirt responded best to slow and steady training. By fall, she was very easy-going under saddle. Squirt's owners plan on using her in 4-H, local showing and pleasure riding at home.

Summer
CM Storm's Reward, also known as Stormy, is a 3 year old Thoroughbred/Morgan gelding. His training regimen consisted of ground skills, started under saddle and trained with the intent for sale. Stormy was an incredibly fast learner. After 3 months of training, a Sun Fire Stables' student decided to purchase him for her first family horse. Stormy has a great personality and is quiet & willing under saddle.

Valkyrie, affectionately known as Val, is a 6 year Dutch Warmblood mare. She previously trained at Sun Fire Stables as a 3 year old. Her initial training consisted of ground skills and started under saddle. Her new training regime consisted of refining her headset, collecting trot & canter and getting trail experience. Before Val returned to her home, she was able to participate in a large group trail ride and she did wonderfully.

Bonanza Dun It Right, also know as Fire, is a 7 year old Quarter Horse gelding. His training regimen consisted of improving his western & english pleasure performance and getting more trail experience. Fire is quiet and athletic. He is very versatile and willing to please. His youth rider placed well at local shows they have attended.
